Ex- BBC specialists speaking before Members of Parliament

We begin with queries from Conservative MP the panel's head, that chairs the group.

She initiates by giving context to the leaked memo prepared by Michael Prescott and printed in a daily publication.

"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting this way or that way, My only wish is for it balanced, unbiased and just," he says.

In response to a query whether he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, Prescott replies: "No, I do not. To be clear, tons of stuff the BBC creates is world class - including informative and non-factual shows."

Nevertheless, he states: "There is substantial tasks that requires attention at the BBC."

Another previous consultant BBC adviser interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, remarks she views the BBC extremely earnestly and that it operates a "persistent practice and active debate" across fluid and multifaceted subjects.

"Was the BBC prepared to conduct a proper conversation and exchange and act accordingly?" she asks herself. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
