James Set to Miss Start of National Basketball Association Campaign with Sciatica.
LeBron James began his professional journey with the Cleveland team in the year 2003.
James is sidelined for approximately a month and will miss the start of the league campaign because of sciatic nerve pain, Lakers announced.
James, forty, inked a fresh deal with the Lakers in the month of June and is poised to be the first player to participate across 23 distinct seasons.
Sciatica involves pain in the nerve that goes down the back and through the leg.
James has not taken part in pre-season and missed the defeats against the Golden State and the Suns earlier this month as a result of the sciatic problem.
The veteran will likely miss for all five of the LA Lakers' games in October, including the season-opener against Golden State Warriors.
LeBron James, the NBA's all-time leading scorer, has never previously missed the beginning of the campaign in his 22-season tenure.
His count of over 1,500 regular-season appearances is only 50 away than overtaking former Boston Celtics star Parish's all-time record.
The four-time NBA champion featured in seventy of the LA Lakers' 82 games last term and competed in 71 games in the year before.
The previous season, the player recorded over 24 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game per game and finished sixth in the MVP vote.
LA reached the postseason in last season but fell in five games against the Minnesota in the initial stage.
