Person Who Grabbed Ariana Grande on the occasion of Movie Premiere Barred from Singapore

An Australian man who jumped past a barrier and reached for celebrity Ariana Grande has been expelled and barred from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, aged 26, was sentenced to over a week in jail for causing a public disturbance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority informed news outlets.

Wen pushed beyond security and charged at the actress and singer, who was participating in the regional launch for Wicked: For Good on the thirteenth of November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

Wen has a history of disrupting concerts and star-studded occasions, including rushing the stage at the pop star's Australian show in this summer.

The event sparked outrage in Singapore, with numerous people claiming he of re-traumatising Grande.

The celebrity has mentioned suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a suicide bomb attack at her performance in Manchester in spring of 2017 resulted in the deaths of 22 people and affected hundreds.

In the legal process, the court heard he had attempted to intrude on the film's premiere twice, according to local news sources.

He then made a second attempt to breach security. Event security prevented him and held him in place.

Wen later posted videos expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "at liberty."

Police took him into custody the next day and brought charges against him with disorderly conduct, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The District Judge the judicial official was referenced by a news outlet as stating that the man sought attention, adding that he was incorrect to believe he would not suffer any consequences.

The actress has not spoken about the case.

Cynthia Erivo mentioned the event to a media outlet, remarking that she "just wanted to verify my co-star was secure."

"I believe he had no intention to us harm, but you never know with such situations, and I aimed to ensure that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she stated.
